Job Summary

Caterpillar is seeking a highly skilled Foundry Tooling Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for designing toolings and devices to produce cast iron products, ensuring safety and performance standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design foundry toolings to produce cast iron products for the no-bake process, including gating systems, core prints, parting lines, core setting strategies, and fixtures.
  • Comply with safety, health, and environmental guidelines and participate in continuous improvement of procedures while designing new tooling and fixtures.
  • Pursue improvements and innovation to eliminate changeover time, improve safety, ergonomics, and quality.
  • Attend meetings for product design review to contribute ideas to facilitate manufacturability.
  • Conduct project reviews with suppliers.
  • Conduct on-site supplier audits and collaboration for production and projects.
  • Up to 50% travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of foundry tooling (design, testing, and production) experience.
  • Knowledge of designing foundry toolings and components on 3D CAD modeling software such as Creo.
  • Knowledge of MagmaSoft simulation.
  • Fluent in English speaking and writing.
