We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE Manager to join our team at Metso Outotec. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for formulating and executing the occupational HSE program, ensuring the HSE performance of our operations complies with local and Metso Outotec standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement an HSE program within the country's business lines and units.
- Participate in customer discussions on HSE and develop a good safety culture.
- Work with the country's management to ensure that all local and customer safety requirements are met.
- Understand local HSE requirements and provide solutions that produce the most appropriate result for the location and Metso Outotec.
- Help the local organizations understand current issues and needs and keep them abreast of current policies and programs.
- Maintain positive customer relations and ensure full compliance with current country legislation affecting safety, health, and the environment.
- Prepare reports that detail current HSE activity and achieve short/long-term goals for Metso Outotec.
- Investigate, report, follow up, and maintain all necessary paperwork for all accidents/incidents.
- Design and implement appropriate preventative procedures to minimize risk to all employees.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards and update procedures.
- Takes part in drawing up and updating policies and procedures, in some cases using the support of specialists.
- Conduct regular internal audits and update the emergency plan.
- Regularly evaluate contractors and suppliers from the point of view of safety, health, and the environment.
- Analyses operational risks prior to work commencing and analyses all accidents and incidents to work towards a zero accident target.
- Manage permits to work, non-compliances, statistics, and safety indications.
- Previous HSE experience in safety, engineering, or large machinery-related industry is preferred.
- Four (4) year degree in the Environmental/Safety area.
- Good knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Capabilities to provide direction and motivation.
- Good understanding of written and verbal English/French languages.
- Strong leadership, development, and relationship building skills.
- Proven communications skills and understanding of customer needs.
- Knowledge of HSE development and trends.
- A good level of computer skills is essential - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Highly motivated focused individual.
- Ability to work on own initiative and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful HSE strategies.
- Strong, co-operation, interpersonal skills to manage internal and external issues.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
