Machine Learning Engineer MEX: Driving Innovation

The role of a Machine Learning Engineer at STX Next offers numerous variations, and we're not looking for someone who excels in every aspect. Instead, we seek individuals with in-depth knowledge of a particular domain, such as NLP, Computer Vision, or Recommender Systems. What's essential is a solid foundation and basic understanding of the problems and ideas behind ML.

We utilize ML methods in practice, so we also value the ability to implement models in the form of APIs or integrations with client systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identifying research goals and conducting literature reviews
  • Formulating hypotheses and collecting data for analysis
  • Experimentation and testing to drive results

We expect our ideal candidate to possess:

  • Strong fundamentals of machine learning, including types of ML problems (classification, regression, clustering) and common evaluation measures (precision, recall, F1, IoU, ROUGE)
  • Knowledge of scikit-learn models (random forest, SVM, xgboost), ensemble models, and dimension reduction techniques (PCA, TSNE, UMAP)
  • Familiarity with Python and libraries like pandas and matplotlib for data preparation and visualization
  • Documented experience with one of the libraries: PyTorch or Tensorflow
  • Good knowledge of relational databases and experience with one of: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle
  • Excellent communication skills in English (minimum B2) and problem-solving abilities

We offer a competitive salary range of approximately $110,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience, location, and performance.
