Job Summary

Corning is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader I to join our team. As a key member of our operations group, you will be responsible for directing team operations to achieve Cost, Quality, Health and Safety objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute the operating plan to achieve team objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide immediate supervision to subordinates, ensuring they execute assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies.
  • Review team performance with team members at regular intervals, providing coaching and guidance as needed.
  • Build effective relationships with plant support groups to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Conduct hourly/direct labor employee performance reviews, providing feedback and coaching to enhance performance.
  • Ensure team adherence to documented operating procedures and established document control protocols.
  • Protect Corning's Intellectual Property (IP) and implement training and certification plans to ensure team readiness.
  • Hold reports accountable for adherence to established procedures and setpoints for process control, ensuring awareness and compliance to changes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.
  • Computer skills, including Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science (Engineering or technical) degree.
  • 1-3 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 1 year of previous supervisory experience.
  • Basic problem-solving skills, including Lean and KT methodologies.
  • 1 year of experience with industrial labor relations (union or union-free).
