Job Title: BIW Design and Release Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled BIW Design and Release Engineer to join our team at Protalent in Monterrey, Nuevo León - Toluca, Estado de México. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for designing, specifying, testing, validating, and publishing parts for assigned vehicle families.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and specify parts for assigned vehicle families, ensuring compliance with design requirements.
  • Analyze and resolve failures produced by parts, proposing cost reductions and implementing changes.
  • Perform changes or modifications to component parts of assigned vehicle families (Change Notices - CNs).
  • Request and authorize required tests to systems, parts, and components of assigned vehicle families.
  • Elaborate and evaluate assembly and operation tests of parts in the assembly plants.
  • Determine and issue temporary or final approvals to part validations of assigned vehicle families.
  • Analyze and resolve malfunctions and durability failures of parts in units of assigned vehicle families.
  • Develop parts with suppliers according to the "Source Package" process.
  • Apply and use design software and hardware for models as required by commodity or assigned components.
  • Attend training and development plan to acquire skills and knowledge required to meet objectives.
  • Standardize components and benchmark performance, weight, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop FMEAs and approve or reject requests for temporary or definitive deviations to the product.
  • Request manufacture of prototypes and batches of parts to solve warranty problems.
  • Propose and/or elaborate cost reductions (TCR/VO).
  • Perform product change notifications (CN's) and verify product manufacturing process prior to parts production.
  • Requesting and obtaining concurrences to validations, temporary and final deviations of the designed product.
  • Obtaining product change information, implementation dates, technical service bulletins, and/or campaigns.
  • Coordinate DFMEAs and PFMEAs with suppliers.
  • Support piloting phases in assembly plants.
  • Responsible for designing parts in NX (3D & 2D).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, electro-mechanical, metallurgical, aerospace, or related).
  • 3-5 years of experience in the design of stamped components.
  • Advanced conversational English.
  • CAD Software proficiency (Nx, CATIA, Creo).

Home Office 100%.
