About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Software Engineer to join our multidisciplinary app development team at Etsy, Inc. As a key member of our team, you will work alongside native engineers to bring exciting features for our app users, contributing directly to Etsy's goals and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop large-scale product improvements that deliver key results, leveraging your expertise in Android development and debugging practices and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members, including Product Managers, Designers, QA, and product engineers, to deliver optimal content to our buyers.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient Android applications, utilizing your proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring that code is well-structured, readable, and maintainable, and that best practices are followed.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Manager to prioritize tasks, set goals, and ensure the team's success.
Requirements
  • 4 to 6 years of professional Android development experience, ideally in a product-minded environment.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin and Java, with experience in Android development and debugging practices and tools.
  • Product engineering mindset, with the ability to understand users' problems and find effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to define and solve unconstrained problems.
  • Experience with version control tools, such as git and GitHub.
  • Unit testing experience, with a strong understanding of testing principles and practices.
