We are seeking a reliable and skilled Courier Driver to join our team at FedEx Express Latin America and Caribbean Division. As a Courier Driver, you will be responsible for providing courteous and efficient delivery, sorting, and pick-up of packages, ensuring shipment of packages by completing all necessary paperwork and checking shipments for conformance to FedEx Express features of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accomplish accurate and timely pick-up, selection, inspection, and delivery of assigned packages.
- Seek additional business from current customers, pass leads to Station Ops manager or Sales person.
- Inform Sales person and his direct manager of changes in customer use/competitor's actions.
- Check packages to ensure proper labeling, legality of content including weight and size, proper wrapping, insurance values, special requirements for hazardous material shipment, and compliance with Customs documentations required at destination.
- Provide necessary paperwork relating to the pick-up and delivery of packages, such as airway bills, delivery records, vehicle conditions, Duties/Taxes invoices with neatness and accuracy.
- Ensure proper security of FedEx Express and customer property such as cash, packages, equipment, and hazardous materials.
- Ensure his/her own personal safety and security at all times by following FedEx Safety policies and procedures.
- Operate vehicle safely and efficiently, complying with specific country regulations and corporate policies.
- Strive for improved productivity through constructive suggestions for better methods, procedures, etc.
Requirements:
- High School degree/Equivalent.
- Must possess appropriate license for vehicle assigned in accordance with specific country regulations.
- Good driving record.
- Neat and clean cut appearance.
- Good verbal and writing communication skills, human relations, and team player.
- Must be 21 years old or over.
- Must be able to successfully complete Reading, Map Reading, Sorting, and math sections of the Basic Skills Test.
- Ability to lift 70 lbs. (32kgs) and to maneuver and single package weighing up to 150 lbs. (68kgs) with appropriate equipment.
- Customer orientated with good organizational skills.
- Must be able to work variable shifts.
- Basic English skills preferred.
