The Staff Project Management Engineer is a critical role within Johnson & Johnson, responsible for providing project management expertise to engineering projects related to supply chain. This position requires a high degree of impact on business results and involves managing a team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project management best practices.
- Develop and execute detailed project plans using standard project management tools.
- Prepare and review capital and expense forecasts for assigned projects.
- Report project status to various organizational levels.
- Manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) process.
- Ensure effective use of engineering and quality systems, adhering to quality system regulations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and J&J Machine Guarding requirements.
- Follow the Business-Wide Initiative (BWI) design control process.
- Perform process validations on new, transferred, or modified processes.
- Ensure compliance with the quality policy in all activities.
- Support and promote the safety and industrial hygiene objectives of the plant.
- Utilize Process Excellence methodology and tools to identify and implement improvement projects.
- Establish specific manufacturing capability technology to support transfers and new product introduction.
- Provide technical expertise to support special projects, pilot operations, product, and process improvements.
- Sustain supply chain continuity by qualifying and validating supplier tooling.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
- Approximate experience or equivalent knowledge and skills necessary to satisfactorily perform the position responsibilities.
- 8 to 10 years with a BS in a related field.
- Ability to solve equipment problems related to engineering elements.
- Interpretation skills of performance metrics such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Downtime, Yield, and others.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office preferably.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing activities, roles, and their supply chain end-to-end impact.
- Bilingual: Spanish/English preferably.
- Personal computer skills.
- Use of measurement equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.).
- Experience or related training working with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Ability to work various shifts or overtime when necessary.
- Manufacturing experience in the Medical Industry (preferably).
- Six Sigma or Lean certification as Green Belt or Black Belt is preferred.
- Project management experience or background.
