Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement environmental programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as client requirements. Maintain equipment inventory, conduct regular inspections, monitor hazardous waste removal vendors, and assist in consolidating hazardous wastes. Collaborate with various departments to provide training in emergency response and hazardous material handling. Monitor environmental compliance and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies. Identify and recommend corrective actions to address environmental health and safety hazards. Continuously improve existing procedures and work instructions based on data analysis.
Project Examples:
- Develop and implement hazardous-waste management strategies to minimize environmental impact and ensure compliance with laws;
- Design and implement protocols based on industry standards and regulations;
- Design systems for municipal and industrial water supply and wastewater treatment;
- Conduct research and design preventive programs to reduce environmental impact on volatile organic compounds (VOCs), gases, chemicals, and waste;
- Develop and lead a roadmap to achieve net-zero environmental impact.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environmental role. Proficiency in ISO 14001, environmental regulatory requirements, and Microsoft Office. Ability to perform administrative tasks, maintain information files, and process paperwork. Strong English language proficiency and effective time management skills.
