About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team at 332 Discovery Networks Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V. as a key member of our Finance department. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the business by providing financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the month-end close process from an FP&A perspective, focusing on OPEX P&L variance analysis.
- Perform detailed reviews of actual spend with finance business partners and budget holders.
- Summarize key findings to support discussions and decision-making aimed at improving business unit/regional profitability.
- Assist in the production of the monthly cost forecast submission and updating of related systems.
- Support the annual budget process, including template design, critical review of planning assumptions, and creation and analysis of business cases.
- Provide insight into financial performance through accurate, timely, and relevant reporting.
- Assist directly with business heads by helping with daily finance needs.
- Regularly interact with various business partners.
- Interpret and clearly communicate results, reports, and analysis.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks and create new reporting related to cost management and governance meetings as needed.
- Maintain and improve processes supporting financial planning and analysis activities.
Requirements
- 3+ years of working experience, preferably in an FP&A department.
- Deep understanding of forecasting and budgeting OPEX processes.
- General accounting knowledge (accruals, prepayments, costs recognition).
- Knowledge of media industry dynamics and key metrics is an asset.
- CA/CIMA/ACCA qualified or education in progress is desired.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong MS Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot) and PowerPoint skills.
- Clear, concise verbal and written communication.
- Self-starter with a proactive and hands-on approach.
- Strong IT affinity to drive the required digital agenda in FP&A (EPM, SAP BPC, SAP Analysis, BI tools).
- Prior transition experience is a plus.
- No travel expected.
- Flexible work style with the ability to work beyond normal hours during peak periods to meet deadlines.
