Job Description Summary:

National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement Inc. is seeking a highly qualified Medical Assistant Instructor to join our team.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction to students participating in the NIMAA Medical Assisting program. S/he will also support other NIMAA staff in suggesting improvements to the curriculum and related instructional materials.

The instructor will work closely with the Associate Director of Education and other members of the NIMAA team to ensure the delivery of high-quality education. S/he will also participate in end-of-program debriefing sessions and help implement changes to the program as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Learn and implement strategies for person-centered, team-based primary health care as practiced by high-performing organizations.
  • Develop and deliver didactic instruction to students, including managing online curriculum content and evaluating its effectiveness.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring the success of students in navigating the NIMAA program, including advising and mentoring as needed.
  • Manage the operations of instruction, including postings to Moodle, scheduling, and record-keeping.
  • Ensure effective connection between the online program and in-clinic externship operations.
  • Provide staff support to other NIMAA team members and external parties working on these matters.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • At least three years' experience working as a medical assistant.
  • Experience in educating or training medical assistants.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three years of medical assistant experience in primary health care, preferably in a PCMH, team-based practice.
  • At least three years of Medical Assistant instructional experience.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

Works primarily in a moderately sedentary environment. Physical effort generally involves occasional walking between building sites and travel to all locations.
