About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Sourcing Specialist to join our team at AMETEK, Inc. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading global provider of industrial technology solutions, serving a diverse set of attractive niche markets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify suitable suppliers, providing effective sourcing knowledge to all businesses, from an engineering, quality, and commercial perspective.
  2. Supplier Management: Review all enquiry packages from AMETEK companies for completeness, and ensure the best possible suppliers are involved for each enquiry.
  3. Project Management: Follow up on all enquiry and transfer projects until realization of saving, including benchmark of competitiveness and hit rate of inquiry vs actual order.
  4. Market Intelligence: Research and investigate market strengths in Mexico, including supplier capabilities and capacity for AMETEK needs and business.
  5. Business Development: Prepare briefing documents and presentations to share with AMETEK businesses to educate them on supplier capabilities, strengths, and market conditions.
  6. Facilitation: Facilitate AMETEK business site visits in Mexico where required.
  7. Quality Assurance: Support site audits, NPI assessments, FAI sign off, etc.
Requirements
  1. Education and Qualifications: Degree educated, with Engineering or Economic/Commercial qualification an advantage.
  2. Experience: 5 years in Purchasing/Supply Chain/Engineering/Quality role, with experience in purchasing or sourcing for production parts - buyer, sourcing engineer, supplier quality engineer, supplier development engineer.
  3. Skills: Ability to read and understand technical documentation, business related qualification an advantage, CPSM Training (Preferred), Negotiation Training (Karras Preferred), Good negotiation skills and business acumen.
  4. Language: Bilingual Spanish-English (Essential).
  5. Travel: Ability to travel in Mexico and USA for business trips.
