Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials received at the Intuitive Mexicali Plant, following applicable department procedures for Incoming Quality Control, to ensure raw materials meet specifications required by products and manufacturing processes for instruments and accessories.
  • Document inspection results to maintain traceability at Finish Goods level.
  • Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Safety:
  • Follow GMPs and wear safety equipment to perform endeavors.
  • Participate in Safety commission when required and/or safety training.
  • Utilize correct tooling and equipment according to work instructions or inspection lot requirements, reporting any condition of wear off or damaged tooling or equipment.
  • Escalate any safety issues with supervisor or manager.
  • Follow 5S methodology on respective areas.
  • Report any safety device on equipment that is faulty or suspicious of being damaged.
  • Quality:
  • Perform inspection to raw material at the IQC area and complete inspection report.
  • Interact with computer-based software to assist in inspection activities and record inspection results.
  • Document and execute TINS activities for VRs notification as required.
  • Generate problem description presentation and upload to VR for engineering analysis.
  • Create VR Quality Notifications describing problem and inspection results when required.
  • Perform and record First Article Inspection and route report for approvals.
  • Perform Engineering requests activities and report results as required.
  • Interpret basic mechanical drawings to understand dimensional inspection characteristics.
  • Review supplier's supplied documentation to evaluate if it has the required information/test results per part drawings specification.
  • Efficiency:
  • Perform raw material inspection process on time and following procedures, move inspected material to required physical location based on lot disposition.
  • Assign location for material pending for IQC inspection by using IQC locator App.
  • Record in SAP inspection decision for every inspected lot.
  • Update log files with daily activities.
  • Cost:
  • Propose and participate in improvement projects for the equipment or process under his/her responsibility or ISI Property.
  • People:
  • Study and record all assigned curriculum by ISU (Intuitive Surgical University).
  • Create self-evaluation for CIP and MERIT.
  • Follow ISI Policies, Rules and code of conduct.
  • Productivity:
  • Meet daily average goal for inspection lots based on SAP.
  • Proficient on the use of basic standard inspection tools/equipment as calipers, micrometers, pin/block gages.
  • Comply with efficiency metrics defined by the department management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School completed or Technical studies.
  • Languages: Spanish: Fluent and English: 50%.
  • Systems knowledge: Microsoft Office-Intermediate, SAP, Agile-Basic.
  • Labor Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Quality areas, minimum of 2 years in Quality inspector experience or related position.
  • Skills: Use of basic measuring tools/equipment minimum of 2 years, Mechanical drawing interpretation-Basic, GD&Ts knowledge.
