About the Role:
ZF Group is a leading technology company in the automotive and industrial sectors, supplying advanced mobility products and systems to vehicle manufacturers, mobility providers, and start-up companies. As a Senior Program Buyer, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and profitability by managing purchasing activities for defined programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Bill of Material costs for programs or sets of parts within programs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Develop and implement cost-saving strategies, collaborating with suppliers to promote business unit productivity and competitiveness.
- Support commodity teams in contract and sourcing negotiations, ensuring optimal supplier selection and pricing.
- Analyze the North American supply base, recommending suppliers for addition or removal from the approved supplier list.
- Perform market research and benchmarking to inform cost control and supplier development strategies.
- Develop part family strategies in concert with commodity teams, driving supply chain efficiency and cost reduction.
- Manage supply base performance, ensuring compliance with ZF company policy and industry best practices.
- Track costs and negotiation statuses, maintaining agreements with suppliers and exploring methods for total cost management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or related field.
- 6+ years of advanced experience in professional purchasing, including technical/commodity purchasing, purchasing project management, and purchasing management.
- Experience with supplier bidding processes and complex negotiations.
- Knowledge of APQP and/or project management tools and methods.
