Job Summary

The **Data Governance Lead** is accountable for the management of complex, critical, and large professional disciplinary areas within a financial institution. This role leads and directs a team of professionals, requiring a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact to achieve the objectives of the function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development and implementation of data governance strategies to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Directs a team of professionals responsible for database administration, data analysis, maintenance, data quality, and database management or database architecture/design engineering.
  • Responsible for the end results of an area, exercising control over resources, policy formulation, and planning.
  • Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area.
  • Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget, and planning.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a passion to drive analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of structured/unstructured databases, data modeling, data management, iterative development methodologies, and data governance tools.
  • Experience with agile scrum methodology.

Education:

Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
