Responsibilities

Business Intelligence Data Analyst & Visualization Specialist:

Main Purpose

Accountabilities

  • Quickly utilize technical skills (e.g., SQL, data profiling) to enable team understanding of available data within the context of business needs.
  • Effectively communicate findings to both business and technical personnel, and iteratively execute follow-ups.
  • Understand business needs and available data to design effective dimensional data models for data engineers to build.
  • Frame high-complex visualization and analytical solutions based on business needs and PepsiCo standard platforms.
  • Experienced user of Power BI.
  • Build Data Definition Language (DDL) constructs iteratively based on feedback from data engineers and evolving business requirements.
  • Anticipate and overcome technical/data problems and make appropriate decisions to deliver assigned projects.
  • Define and establish standards for data modeling across the PFNA Data & Digital Solutions Team.
  • Lead Jr data analysts across the team and share approaches and incorporate learnings into future work.
  • Assist other team members on project deliverables as needed.
  • Responsible for supporting a variety of data sets and data visualization tools in the production environment.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years' experience operating in an IT data analyst or business data analyst role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Extensive and high-level hands-on Power BI and SQL experience, with the ability to write complex queries to explore and understand data.
    • Knowledge and/or ability and experience querying both traditional relational database technologies (e.g., Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) and emerging cloud-based technologies (Azure Data Lake, Hive, Presto, Synapse).
    • Knowledge and experience creating DDL data models.
    • Ability to perform data discovery and profiling activities on data sets and present results to both IT and business users.
    • Strong functional domain expertise in at least one core PepsiCo business function (e.g., sales, supply chain, finance).
    • Ability to teach master classes within the Power BI community of practice to build/grow data culture around the business.
  • Non-Technical Skills:
    • Ability to work with agile delivery methodologies.
    • Ability to ideate requirements and design iteratively with business partners without formal requirements documentation.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tell stories.
    • Ability to work at a detailed technical level with data engineers, while equally proficient in having business context conversations with business users/business analysts.
    • Ability to positively influence immediate team members, including contract resources.
    • Ability to adapt to change quickly and handle unforeseen requirements effectively with limited assistance for prioritization.
    • Ability to work with virtual and global teams.
