About the Role:

The MRO Buyer will play a critical role in ensuring the procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies, equipment, and services meet operational demands, budgetary requirements, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure materials, tools, parts, and services needed for maintenance, repair, and operational functions based on cost, quality, service, and reliability.
  • Issue purchase orders (POs) based on requests from the maintenance and operations departments.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of MRO supplies while maintaining quality standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve processes, reduce lead times, and optimize pricing.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive supplier corrective actions where performance falls below agreed target levels.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, bulk purchasing, or alternative materials.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including POs, delivery receipts, invoices, and supplier contracts.

Requirements:

  • Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (CPSM, CPM).
  • Five (5) years MRO procurement experience.
  • Fluent business-level English.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement processes.
  • Experience with sourcing MRO supplies across multiple categories.
  • Global/Multinational experience is required.
  • Solid track record meeting substantial cost reduction targets.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Full proficiency in use of computer tools including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SRM/SAP, and other database type tools.
