Join Pipestone as a Swine Technician - Wean to Finish Specialist and take on a challenging role that requires a strong passion for animal care and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall health and well-being of pigs from weaning to finishing, ensuring optimal growth and development.
- Implement effective feed management strategies to maximize feed intake and minimize waste.
- Monitor and maintain ventilation systems to ensure a healthy and comfortable environment for pigs.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed, and identify and address any health issues promptly.
- Manage the flow of pigs through the facility, ensuring efficient and safe movement.
- Perform groundskeeping and upkeep tasks to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 6 months of experience in pig care preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and stand for long periods.
