Quality Assurance Engineer for Game Development

Lionbridge Games is on the lookout for a Quality Assurance Engineer specializing in test automation to enhance our collaborative efforts with a leading technology firm.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in game testing automation utilizing Unreal Engine, along with expertise in developing testing frameworks. Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in Python and AWS are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create tools and solutions to automate repetitive tasks, enhancing efficiency and productivity.
  • Seamlessly integrate new solutions with existing tools and workflows.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code in C#/C++.
  • Troubleshoot C# and C++ code within the context of Unreal Engine automation solutions to identify and resolve issues.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance automation tools and frameworks.
  • Integrate automation solutions with Continuous Integration systems and debug as necessary.
  • Contribute to the overall technical strategy of the team.
  • Enhance product code to improve its testability.
  • Mentor junior team members at Lionbridge Games.
  • Stay updated on software testing best practices and industry advancements.
  • Monitor software performance to identify and address code errors.
  • Collaborate closely with internal QA and development teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in tools and automation development within desktop or console gaming environments.
  • Proficient in Unreal Engine game development (3+ years) and CI/Build systems.
  • Advanced debugging skills in C++ and C#.
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Perforce.
  • Basic understanding of at least one Command Line Interface (Cmd, Powershell, etc.).
  • Proficient in English.
  • Experience with algorithms, data structures, and unit testing.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking tools.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong technical communication skills.
  • Understanding of QA processes, test scope requirements, and testing methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Professional coding experience in additional programming languages.
  • Experience with major console development kits.
  • Familiarity with the game development lifecycle.
