Team Leadership and Oversight:
o Organizes, plans, coordinates, and oversees the tasks and responsibilities of production personnel to guarantee that all operations are conducted safely and efficiently, adhering to established procedures and policies, ensuring that the products manufactured meet or surpass all quality standards, including product integrity and production documentation.
o Guides, mentors, and evaluates the production team, fostering collaboration among team members through the appropriate HR tools, services, and protocols, aiming to cultivate a productive and efficient workforce that achieves results while upholding a positive workplace culture aligned with Nutreco's values. This encompasses all related personnel actions, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary measures, safety protocols, and grievance handling.
Production Coordination:
o Ensures effective management of production processes in collaboration with the Production or Plant Manager by establishing production priorities based on the predetermined monthly/weekly schedules; assigns daily tasks to meet established standards and production timelines, including cleaning and other related activities.
o Optimizes staffing and organization in accordance with production needs, setting work schedules for Operators in conjunction with the production planning provided by Planning/Supply Chain.
o Collaborates with Maintenance to effectively synchronize production activities with both planned and unplanned maintenance.
o Establishes schedules for incoming raw materials and ingredients, in partnership with Purchasing/Supply Chain/Warehousing, to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Quality and Safety Compliance:
o Ensures adherence to all safety and quality standards and plant policies by the team, implementing disciplinary actions when necessary and training employees on production-related aspects. Guarantees that the team follows all housekeeping protocols to maintain the facility in accordance with Nutreco's (5S) standards.
o Interprets specifications and recommends actions regarding the acceptability of ongoing production.
o Ensures that all tasks are performed in compliance with relevant safety regulations and procedures to prevent incidents.
o Identifies potential hazards and unsafe conditions, taking appropriate measures in case of imminent dangers.
Reporting and Monitoring:
o Maintains essential production monitoring systems and reports to ensure continuous insight into production status.
o Monitors shiftly, daily, and weekly KPIs SQCDME and collaborates with the Production Manager to achieve set targets (SIM process).
Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
o Actively contributes to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving target objectives, leading Problem Solving Groups in a structured manner.
Effective Communication:
o Engages with the Plant Manager, Production Manager, Supply Chain managers/supervisors, and other departments to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
o Participates in daily production meetings and other relevant production discussions.
