At Rockwell Automation, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Industrialization Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our industrialization design team, you will play a critical role in supporting the execution of new product introductions (NPI) and continuous engineering (CE) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of comprehensive manufacturing design specifications and collaborate with the NPI build team to ensure successful pilot and launch of products.
- Work with engineering design and manufacturing engineering build teams to ensure optimum product and process design for manufacturability.
- Collaborate with development engineering to leverage design for manufacturability (DFM) to reduce labor time, improve ease of assembly, and obtain product cost targets.
- Support the development of associated documentation and estimates manufacturing cost.
- Work on issues of medium scope where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Exercise judgment in supporting the selection of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Teach other industrialization engineers how to perform the work that is expected of them, the business processes that they participate in, and how to use the various tools needed to complete their work.
- Support research, development, and implementation of cost reduction and process improvement projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of science degree in industrial/mechanical/electrical engineering, or equivalent degree or education.
- Basic understanding of Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies like process failure mode effects analysis (PFMEA).
- Exhibit good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding and can demonstrate design for assembly, cost, and automation on an NPI.
- Work concurrently on multiple NPI and non-NPI projects.
- Ability to support a design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA) and collaborate to achieve manufacturability and product cost.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in engineering.
- Demonstrated understanding of new product introduction process (NPI).
- Participation in a new product design evaluation process.
- Knowledge of project management.
- Knowledge of proven manufacturing process and how to apply.
- Ability to execute transactions in an enterprise resource planning system, preferably SAP.
- Good written and verbal communications in English.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience in a role as part of a cross-functional project team to ensure manufacturing validation strategies are efficient and stream-lined with an end-to-end perspective.
- Execute project work according to project schedules.
Leadership Competencies Required:
- Can work under general direction but must be able to self-direct and adjust to changes in priority and scope.
- Use facts and logic to influence others.
- Ability to lead and manage priorities for multiple projects.
