Your Role at Baxter

As a highly qualified and expert Purchasing Manager, you will have the opportunity to ensure cost savings, improve supply chain efficiency, and build strong relationships with suppliers. You will lead the purchasing function for new product development projects in the LATAM region, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve purchasing requirements and develop sourcing strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials.
  • Implement and maintain purchasing systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues from different departments to predict demand and improve inventory management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions to identify potential opportunities and risks.
  • Participate in product development meetings to provide input on cost optimization and supplier selection.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance purchasing processes and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business administration, supply chain management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in Procurement, Project Management, and/or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Purchasing or Supply Chain certification desirable.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint. Business Analytics experience with Tableau, Microsoft BI is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, pro-active personality.
  • Strong business process and critical thinking.
  • Sound financial skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and engage senior management of current and potential suppliers.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional way with internal collaborators (senior management) to ensure the necessary buy-in for the sourcing/savings projects.
  • Ability to engage and support key stakeholders throughout the PSM process.
  • Good oral, written communications, and presentation skills.
  • An entrepreneurial personality with a strong negotiation skill coupled with a commercial mindset. First-rate analytical and problem-solving skills, with flexibility to devise alternative solutions to complex problems.
  • Knowledge of six sigma / black belt methodologies is desirable.
