About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to join our team at UST. As a key member of our software testing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts to reduce repetitive manual testing
- Participate in project-wide reviews of requirements, system architecture, and detailed design documents
- Work closely with software developers and automation engineers to resolve issues
- Develop and maintain the Automation Frameworks across our products
- Interact with business analysts, users, designers, and developers to further understand the system and/or resolve system defects
- Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts utilizing appropriate toolsets to cover system functionality as completely as possible
- Ensure personal and QA engineers' test scripts adhere to approved scripting standards and guidelines
- Perform automated and manual testing efforts for our products
- Develop various reports to support testing and QA processes
- Analyze and report on defects utilizing appropriate defect tracking software
- Manage test data by setting up and maintaining data-driven tests
- Help define, improve, and implement QA best practices
- Assist the Executive Director in researching and recommending appropriate testing tools for use with the BA, QA team, and developers
- Mentor and teach as appropriate, other BA and QA analysts in the use of approved tools and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related degree, or equivalent experience
- Experience working with Gradle, Postman, IntelliJ Idea, Spock Framework, Git, and MongoDB Compass
- Good grasp of Groovy, jQuery, GEB testing, and JMeter
- Familiarity with XML and JSON formats
- 4+ years of quality assurance and testing of medium (6-8 months) to large (12+ months) size IT web-based software projects
- 3+ years of automation testing tools experience
- 1 year knowledge and understanding of Total Quality Management, Software Quality Analyst or Test Engineer best-practices, or working towards certification in these areas
- Complex analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and coordinate activities within a team
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies
- Advanced ability to solve complex problems, drawing upon creativity, experience, and multiple sources of information
- Advanced communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in a straightforward manner
