Join Our Team as an Android Software Engineer

We're seeking a highly skilled Android Software Engineer to join our team at Capital One Technology Labs Mexico. As a key member of our team, you'll play a critical role in driving the transformation of our mobile platform.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Android Software Engineer with a strong background in Kotlin and mobile development. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality customer experiences through innovative Android solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-performing Android client code that aligns with our product strategy and adheres to established engineering best practices
  • Collaborate with software engineers, UX/UI designers, quality engineers, and product owners/analysts to deliver engaging, purposeful, and powerful user experiences
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies and contribute to ensuring team commitments are met on time and with the highest quality
  • Advocate for the mobile platform within both internal and external developer communities
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies related to mobile development, including Kotlin, Swift, and 3rd-party libraries
  • Influence group discussions and incorporate feedback/communication from the broader team
  • Mentor junior to mid-level members of the team
  • Engage with developers across various disciplines (Android, iOS, APIs, Web, etc.)
  • Own and lead delivery of major components and platform needs in partnership with senior engineers and architects
  • Share best practices and improve processes within and across sprint teams
  • Identify technical obstacles early and work closely with the team to find creative solutions
  • Review pull requests and ensure adherence to Kotlin and other language idioms

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience
  • At least 3 years of experience building Android applications
  • At least 3 years of experience with Kotlin
  • At least 2 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience building Android applications
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • 4+ years of experience with Kotlin
  • 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks
  • 2+ years of experience with Agile practices

Compensation Package:

We offer an estimated salary range of $120,000-$180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, you'll enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and more.
