About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join our team at Lyft. As a key member of our Application Security Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and services.

Responsibilities
  • Triage and validate security issues identified through our Bug Bounty program
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand, verify, and remediate identified security issues
  • Proactively research new attack vectors that may affect Lyft
  • Identify and drive resolutions for underlying security issues through scripting and automation
  • Test fixes to ensure effective remediation
  • Develop and provide guidance on best practices for Lyft engineers
  • Threat model and code review of features and services
Requirements
  • Experience with penetration testing against cloud environments and/or mobile platforms
  • Development skills to automate code security assessment and scale impact
  • Strong understanding of computer networking concepts and protocols, application and network security methodologies
  • Knowledge of network security architecture concepts, including topology, protocols, components, and principles
  • Ability to communicate complex information and concepts to leadership
  • Experience with bug bounty research and CTFs
  • Strong interest in computer security, ideally in both attacking and defending services
  • Ability to learn quickly and independently in a fast-paced environment
