We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Optimization Specialist to join our team at John Deere. As a key member of our logistics and inventory management team, you will be responsible for evaluating and improving our material flow processes to ensure efficient and effective supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and analyze current logistics flow to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to optimize material replenishment and flow throughout the factory.
- Establish and monitor line side inventory levels and presentation, and develop strategies to support variable build levels and inventory accuracy while minimizing material handling costs.
- Determine the correct inventory location for raw materials and complete goods inventory, and plan raw material and In Process storage strategies.
- Serve as an expert for Warehouse Management portion of SAP, determining zones for warehouse locations and establishing SAP system parameters to drive material to its point of use.
- Collaborate with unit operations personnel to ensure optimal carrier selection for shipment and delivery, and review and analyze freight cost to optimize services and cost.
- Strong knowledge of SAP and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of unit processes and operations, as well as Deere Production System, Lean Manufacturing, Just-in-Time, Kanban, Demand Flow Technology, and Order Fulfillment Process.
- Experience with In Process Kanban calculations, value stream mapping, and SAP Warehouse Management.
