About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at Vertiv. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity of our company's financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and collaborate in the accounting closing process, carrying out specific tasks on a timely manner to ensure the accuracy and completeness of our financial statements.
  • Prepare journal entries related to project accounting, revenue, costs of sales, work in progress, deferred revenue, and unbilled revenue.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly accruals, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reflected in our financial statements.
  • Ownership of balance sheet control reconciliations, including investigation of reconciling items to clear in a timely manner and working towards resolution of open items with business units and other departments.
  • Researches and investigates accounting issues as required, providing expert advice and guidance to stakeholders.
  • Provide various financial reports to finance management as requested, using data analytics and visualization tools to present insights and trends.
  • Maintain compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal CP&P, ensuring that our financial reporting is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audit processes, collaborating with other departments to meet deliverables and address explanations.
  • Identify potential areas for process improvements and work towards standardization and optimization of processes, improving efficiency and reducing costs.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar role or industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, with ability to apply principles and standards in a practical context.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Confidence in challenging the status quo, with ability to think critically and outside the box.
  • The ability to go fast, with a desire to help others go faster, leveraging technology and automation to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Outstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skills, with ability to articulate complex financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is a must, with ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across languages and cultures.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
