To work in an advisory capacity to manufacturing, engineering, and/or purchasing departments using knowledge of methods and materials in specialized field or general manufacturing in order to optimize cost and quality.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
- Develop and implement process improvements, leveraging expertise in lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
- Conduct time and motion studies to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance productivity and quality.
- Work closely with engineering and purchasing departments to design and develop new manufacturing processes, systems, equipment, and materials.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including operating procedures and work instructions.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and provide training to employees on its proper use.
- Track and manage submitted requisitions and purchase orders.
- Update routings and manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) with direction from manager.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Engineering related field.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluent in English and Spanish – verbal and written.
- Product knowledge is a plus.
- Minimum experience of 0 - 2 years. Experience level dependent on laminated products.
- Lean Manufacturing experience preferred with Green Belt or Black Belt training or certification.
- Visa and valid passport.
- 50% travel for first 1 – 8 months; 10% travel after initial onboarding.
- Analysis of time and motion, methods, estimating, process engineering and plant layout for assigned area to ensure balanced methods and available capacity to meet customer demand.
- Implement factory manufacturing processes, systems, equipment, and materials in terms of their associated cost, time, ergonomic, quality, and quantity factors.
- Assist in recommended changes, collect information for capital justifications and participate in the design and development of new manufacturing processes, systems, equipment, and materials to contribute to the assigned area's short and long-term economic objectives.
- Write and distribute manufacturing changes and associated operating work instructions to all affected personnel on the shop floor as well as training operators on the product and process changes.
- Assist in installation of new equipment and help train employees in the proper use of the equipment.
- Track submitted requisitions and purchase orders.
- Update routings and Manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) with direction from manager.
