Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer is a key member of the Ab Electrolux team, responsible for developing and implementing optimal manufacturing processes and methods to meet product specifications and quality standards. This role involves recommending and implementing improvements to production processes, cycle times, methods, and controls, as well as coordinating manufacturing launches for new or revised products.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement manufacturing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve production problems.
• Work closely with maintenance and manufacturing associates to ensure smooth production operations and conduct training to introduce new processes.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 50001 and other relevant standards and regulations.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including process specifications and equipment manuals.
• Participate in concurrent engineering design reviews and evaluate and approve drawings, routings, specifications, and other documents.
• Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance schedules to ensure continuous uptime of equipment.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Strong knowledge of TPM systems and general maintenance and safety policies and procedures as they relate to a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods, including flow, layout, production equipment, and tooling specification and capital improvement costing and proposals.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead maintenance technicians as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in manufacturing maintenance personnel management.
• Knowledge of PM systems and general maintenance policies and procedures as they relate to a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Significant experience in motor and PLC controls and programming.
• Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods, including flow, layout, production equipment, and tooling specification and capital improvement costing and proposals.
• Computer proficiency required, with experience in problem (root cause) analysis and problem resolution skills.
• Experience in equipment used in the raw material delivery and storage systems, as well as process piping and pumping equipment and specifications of volatile foam agents.
• Chemical knowledge, including reactivity of volatile agents and impact of outside variables such as temperature, humidity, reaction time, etc.
• Experience in development of preventative and predictive maintenance schedules to ensure continuous uptime of equipment.
• Volatile chemical reaction experience a definite plus in this position.
• Knowledge of Isocyanate and Polyol blend chemicals also desirable.
• Significant experience and understanding of PLC and motor controls in a continuous process system.
• Ability to lead maintenance technicians in the area of responsibility and work closely with engineers in other departments to solve problems and continuously improve processes, reduce scrap, and improve cycle times of equipment.
• Industrial experience and knowledge of one or more of the following processes: bending process, automatization, foam process, plastics process, material handling, and material flow.
• Knowledge of OEE.
• Knowledge and understanding of the requirement for Manufacturing Engineering Specification and the ability to write specifications.
• Computer experience with a demonstrated competence in PCs and the use of online systems both manufacturing and engineering.
• Knowledge in energy management systems ISO Significant Energy Uses, Energy Policy, objectives and actions plans, operational controls and energy indicator performance.
