About the Team

Stripe is establishing Stripe Delivery Centers, a new global initiative aimed at designing, implementing, and expanding Stripe's operational capabilities for the future. What You'll Do

The Credit Operations team is essential in maintaining a robust financial ecosystem for businesses worldwide. This team directly influences the company's financial health and growth potential by supporting new and emerging enterprises. Responsibilities include conducting credit risk evaluations, underwriting a diverse range of users, and proposing risk mitigation strategies that empower Stripe to make informed decisions on behalf of our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with merchants, from successful venture-backed startups to established institutions, assessing their business models and financial documentation.
  • Manage Stripe's portfolio by gaining in-depth insights into risk across various industries, regions, and operational frameworks.
  • Identify unique risks associated with complex business models and implement suitable loss mitigation strategies based on your evaluations.
  • Leverage analytics to refine strategies applicable across Stripe's portfolio.
  • Detect risk indicators and trends, reporting these findings to the broader risk team to ensure alignment in partnerships.
  • Recognize deficiencies in existing systems, policies, and strategies, recommending enhancements and process improvements.
  • Gain insights into Stripe's operations from the ground up and make a tangible impact on the organization's future.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a new team and operational culture at Stripe.
  • Collaborate with global operations specialists or business process owners to manage critical workflows.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience with a solid understanding of commercial credit underwriting, financial risk modeling, and cash flow analysis.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English at a business level.
  • Ability to convert business and financial data into a coherent narrative outlining potential credit risks.
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles and comfort in evaluating financial statements and business models across various sectors.
  • Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • A process-oriented mindset with a focus on execution.
  • Enjoyment of working in an office environment with strong collaboration across teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Humble demeanor with a proven history of effective teamwork and collaboration with external partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Finance or Accounting.
  • Experience in payments, e-commerce, or fintech with a focus on credit risk mitigation.
