Job Overview

The NVH Development Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring optimal vehicle system performance related to noise, vibration, and sound quality. This position is responsible for supporting the successful integration of all NVH sub-systems into the vehicle, including radio, active noise control, and propulsion systems.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Support NVH Sub-System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of NVH sub-systems, including radio, ANC, and propulsion systems.
  2. NVH Assessments and Testing: Conduct thorough assessments and testing of NVH performance, including powertrain, road, wind, and accessory noise, at each program stage.
  3. Engagement and Coordination: Engage relevant teams to ensure NVH enablers are implemented into the final design and all relevant NVH vehicle targets are met.
  4. Process Improvement and Optimization: Support cross-functional meetings, coordinate benchmarking, standardized testing, and target setting to improve operational and economic efficiencies.
  5. Data Analysis and Reporting: Conduct thorough analysis of NVH data, including summary and recommendations, and prepare clear and concise presentations/summaries in support of management reviews.
  6. Program Scorecards and Recovery Plans: Maintain program scorecards and detailed recovery plans to ensure successful program execution.
  7. Value Optimization and Character Maintenance: Support value optimization activities while maintaining intended NVH character at product/vehicle level.

Requirements

Position Requirements (Basic):

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited program.
  2. Experience: Three years of engineering experience and one year of vehicle, powertrain, or component NVH experience.
  3. Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and strong planning/organizational skills.

Position Requirements (Preferred):

  1. Education: Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited program.
  2. Experience: Five years of engineering experience with three years of either vehicle NVH or component NVH experience.
  3. Technical Background: Strong technical background in digital signal processing and active control, with experience in vehicle or powertrain NVH development, including data acquisition, processing, analysis, interpretation, and issue resolution.
  4. Tools and Software: Proven record of effectively using NVH measurements and tools (e.g., LMS, HEAD Acoustics, Artemis, Rotec, Mueller BBM, Matlab, Simulink).
  5. Leadership and Teamwork: Demonstrated capability in leading cross-organization teams and experience working with cross-functional teams is a plus.
