Eaton's AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Senior Metal Stamping Product Development Engineer to lead the development and launch of new products, processes, and design changes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
• Develop and implement new product and process designs to meet EATON and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and transitions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using the Eaton Business System (EBS) and Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF).
• Develop and implement customer requirements and quality control programs.
**Technical Responsibilities:**
• Determine equipment, materials, tooling, methods of manufacture, and facilities required to produce products.
• Develop tooling layouts for stamping dies and troubleshoot die issues.
• Work with tool designers and manufacturing engineers to develop new and efficient dies.
• Develop drawings and engineering documentation to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
• Provide technical support for cost-saving projects and analyze specifications and drawings to ensure product quality.
• Collaborate with product engineering to design new products and redesign existing products for manufacturability.
• Develop standardized work instructions, setup procedures, and supporting documentation.
• Validate and define programs, routines, and tool & die changeovers to achieve first-run workpiece dimensional tolerances.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and monitor press operation for proper function.
• Provide continuous training for stamping operators and comply with environmentally safe practices and regulations.
**Qualifications:**
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering with an emphasis on stamping processes.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.
• Working knowledge of current manufacturing techniques, tooling, metal stamping, assembly, and testing.
• Strong mechanical, time management, and analysis skills.
• GD&T and blueprint reading skills.
• Tool design and process development experience.
• Experience with CAD programs and desired experience in forming simulation software.
• Project management experience and ability to plan and provide input on cost and budgeting.
• Strong analytical skills and computer skills (MS-Project & MS Office).
• Proactive and results-driven individual.
