This includes specifying, designing, and implementing automation equipment, tooling, and applications as required to meet specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop automation systems for industrial processes, including metal fabrication processes such as punching, bending, and assembly.
- Program and configure programmable logic controllers (PLCs), robots, and vision systems.
- Integrate, test, and debug automation systems with existing equipment and processes.
- Establish technical manuals, drawings, models, training documentation, preventative maintenance plans, and troubleshooting guides for automated equipment and processes.
- Ensure the uptime of machines through regular preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide feedback to improve the design of processes and equipment.
- Direct daily department activities to maximize equipment utilization and support production needs.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with other functional groups to ensure efficient operation of the departmental function.
- Identify and drive change to ensure automation effectiveness of existing processes.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of customer requirements and offer suggestions and ideas on the best way to deliver automation solutions.
Requirements:
- BA/BS/MBA or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in a similar position.
- Advanced English communication skills.
- Experience programming of PLCs, HMIs, Robots, and Cobots.
- Knowledge of sensors and vision systems programming.
- Experience and knowledge in mechanical tolerances for equipment design.
- Knowledge of pneumatic and electrical diagrams; 2D and 3D reading.
- Experience in industrial, sheet metal design to be fabricated by mechanical systems.
- Availability to travel 20%.
