This position encompasses the support, maintenance, and configuration of network and security systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN appliances, and SaaS solutions that underpin our internet, LAN, and WAN environments. Daily engagement with our monitoring and reporting services is also a key aspect of this role.
The Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer is expected to foster professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, management, partners, and vendors. Participation in an on-call rotation and the use of a company-issued smartphone are required, with travel expectations of up to 10%.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement, manage, and support Wyndham's global network and security infrastructure, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with key initiatives. Conduct change control and device configuration management for all network and security systems. Provide management-level reporting on firewall, proxy, and Intrusion Protection System (IPS) activities regularly. Engage in security incident response activities, implementing tactical risk mitigation strategies. Collaborate with business units to develop network and security solutions that meet customer needs while adhering to established processes and standards. Work closely with fellow Network Engineers, IT Architects, analysts, and external partners to evaluate and propose innovative technologies and methodologies aimed at enhancing organizational effectiveness. Coordinate technical support between Network & Security Services and other IT engineering teams, facilitating system maintenance, installations, and upgrades. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule as required.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience. Advanced expertise with Cisco IOS, NXOS, Palo Alto PANOS, and Cloud Proxy Solutions (Zscaler is a plus). Proficient in dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and RIP, including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting in complex environments. Active certifications such as CCNP, PCNSE, and AWS-related certifications are highly desirable. Familiarity with NetDevOps and/or SecDevOps practices for infrastructure management (Python, Ansible, Terraform, bash scripting, etc.). Experience with SEIM platforms like Splunk or similar (CrowdStrike LogScale is a plus). Fundamental understanding of SOX/PCI/PII standards to ensure compliance. Additional knowledge in wireless networking and network monitoring tools (SolarWinds HCO is a plus). 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a mid-to-large enterprise with 24x7 operational environments.Experience equivalent to the educational requirement may be accepted in lieu of formal education.
