Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of manufacturing equipment and support areas at BorgWarner Irapuato. This includes developing and implementing maintenance strategies, creating and maintaining maintenance procedures, and ensuring the availability of spare parts and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure the availability of manufacturing and support equipment
  • Create and maintain maintenance procedures and routines for all equipment on existing production lines
  • Schedule and allocate all maintenance activities through SAP
  • Ensure the availability of spare parts for manufacturing and support equipment
  • Follow up on the fulfillment of financial commitments
  • Responsible for operator training in TPM and autonomous maintenance
  • Develop and implement predictive maintenance strategy
  • Actively work on actions to maintain and improve plant maintenance KPI's
  • Ensure the availability and proper use of tools, spare parts, and hardware required for productive machinery
  • Drive costs within expectations and promote improvement initiatives
  • Utilize necessary engineering tools and resources to ensure processes and compliance with product and customer requirements
  • Promote timely and efficient participation in scheduled audits

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in preparing the building and utilities to receive new equipment
  • Participate with the team to ensure the achievement of the OEE target
  • Promote and oversee proper use of troubleshooting tools and implementation of corrective actions
  • Ensure equipment adherence to ergonomic and JSA safety guidelines
  • Ensure, along with the team, quality procedures and follow up to the quality manual
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement
  • Follow up on IATF guidelines and audit process
  • Oversee compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, labor, and other legal requirements
  • Ensure implementation of core lean manufacturing tools and initiatives
  • Create concise metrics for each process
  • Propose and implement cost-saving projects
  • Define, propose, and track performance objectives each year

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Create and ensure the execution of development plans for all direct subordinates
  • Create personal development plan
  • Ensure the creation of succession plan
  • Utilize problem-solving methodology, Rapid Response, and Root Cause Analysis
  • Identify and participate in the solution of specific problems related to the efficiency obtained (OEE)
  • Support and coordinate employee training in specific technical level areas
  • Observe compliance with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System requirements of the processes under management
  • Observe compliance with IATF 16949 Environmental Management System requirements of the processes under management
  • Serve as technical advisor and internal audit leader for CQI-9
  • Actively participate during the time of the audit in company with the CQI-9 auditor
  • Follow up the PDCA activities until its closure, as a result of the CQI-9 evaluation of the heat treatment processes managed by the company
  • Participate as manager of the follow-up of the systems: GSSF, quality management, environmental management, safety management, and C-TPAT
