Position Overview
In the role of Senior Manager for Die Casting Operations, you will take charge of all die casting activities within our manufacturing site. Your responsibilities will encompass personnel management, process optimization, quality assurance, and safety implementation to ensure productive and effective manufacturing results.
- Direct and oversee a team of die casting operators, technicians, and schedulers.
- Establish clear goals, provide direction, and assess performance to meet productivity and safety standards.
- Recruit and develop the necessary talent to build a high-performing team.
- Enhance team capabilities through coaching, training, and professional growth opportunities.
- Cultivate a collaborative work atmosphere that promotes innovation and continuous improvement.
- Identify pathways for departmental growth aligned with corporate casting strategies.
- Create and manage production schedules based on customer demand and operational capacity.
- Maximize equipment efficiency and workforce allocation to reduce downtime.
- Track production metrics (e.g., OEE, scrap rates) and implement necessary corrective actions to achieve targets.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and regulatory guidelines.
- Develop and uphold quality control measures to achieve defect-free production.
- Analyze quality issues to determine root causes and implement preventive strategies to enhance overall product quality.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
- Significant experience (typically 5+ years) in die casting operations, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Comprehensive understanding of die casting processes, machinery, materials, and tooling.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on motivating and developing a diverse workforce.
- Expertise in production planning, scheduling, and inventory oversight.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred certifications include Certified Die Casting Technician (CDT) or Six Sigma Green Belt.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
