**Job Summary**
The Interior Cockpit Design and Release Engineer is a critical role within Ford Motor Company's Product Development team. This position is responsible for designing, developing, validating, and releasing Instrument Panel and Console Systems, subsystems, and components for assigned programs.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Comply with program cost, weight, quality, performance, and timing targets.
- Ensure designed components meet packaging space requirements and interact with surrounding systems/components as needed.
- Manage costs, weight, and program timing, and ensure manufacturing feasibility for assigned components.
- Monitor the development of Interior Cockpit for Ford vehicles according to company-specific benchmarks.
- Participate in the sourcing process, including lead-to-four and lead-to-five discussions, ED&T review, piece price and tooling cost review, and CPA.
- Design parts to comply with corporate and local requirements for parts validation, considering worldwide customer requirements, engineering specifications, and systems design specifications.
- Release parts in FEDEBOM and WERS through the product life cycle.
- Support the change control meeting and lead discussions with involved parties, including suppliers.
- Responsible for incorporating new designs and engineering changes at the assembly plant.
- Responsible for looking for design improvements to increase quality and cost/weight optimization.
**Requirements**
- Compliance with robustness engineering disciplines, including quality history, P-diagram, FMEA, etc.
- Translation of customer, regulatory, and product requirements into engineering targets.
