Background and Experiences
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Product Development Engineer Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Production, Materials, or Industrial engineering. Previous knowledge or skills in project management and engineering product development are welcome.
Key Responsibilities
As a Product Development Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for driving or supporting Product Leadership through the Whirlpool Product Development process. This includes:
- Driving or supporting simulation of virtual prototypes and build of physical prototypes per V&V Plan
- Documenting the revision of parts used in builds using baselines
- Working closely with the product engineering team to lead and participate in cost reduction, new product introduction, and regulatory initiatives and pipeline generation
- Participating in manufacturing plant reviews for quality, new product introduction, and regulatory and supporting to provide proper engineering support on requested issues
- Administering budget expenses
- Supporting the development and monitoring of project schedules
- Documenting reusable knowledge to support continuous improvement of architecture development and future Production Development Projects
