Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced software engineering leader to help us build and grow our Technology Site in Mexico City. As a Senior Director of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for building and leading a team of software engineers who focus on software delivery experience tools, cloud governance, and well-managed experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of 50-70 high-quality software engineers
- Support an aggressive recruiting agenda to assess and staff a large (100+ person) high-quality software engineering organization
- Provide thought leadership and guidance to our software engineers, and our product partners, with a focus on the software delivery experience, cloud and risk engineering, and well-managed
- Encourage innovation, cutting-edge technologies, and out-of-the-box thinking
- Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions
- Serve as the primary point of contact and proactively manage relationships with Capital One US Tech leaders to effectively align well-managed resources and sequence needs in support of strategic business and Tech priorities
- Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, including learning and experimenting with new technologies, participating in internal and external technology communities, and mentoring members of the engineering community
- Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments
- Support continuous improvements processes and shift-left well-managed activities by enabling the developer community through tooling and automation
Requirements
- At least 15 years' experience in a technical role, i.e. data and software engineering
- At least 5 years of executive technology leadership experience
- At least 5 years of experience driving architecture and engineering excellence at enterprise scale
- At least 5 years of experience with public cloud technologies
- Fluent in Spanish and English, both spoken and written
