About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled MES Engineer to join our team at The Timken Company. As a MES Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the existing Ignition and Sepasoft MES deployment in our San Jose Iturbide location.
  • Manage the Equipment Hierarchy and asset connectivity to the Settings and Changeover, and OEE modules.
  • Configure and customize Sepasoft MES modules to expand the MES usage to new areas of the plant.
  • Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure the stability and reliability of MES implementations.
  • Provide training and technical support to end-users and stakeholders on MES functionalities and best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with the IT ERP team to integrate the MES with SAP, ensuring seamless data exchange.
  • Collaborate closely with SCADA and Controls engineers to ensure seamless data exchange with manufacturing equipment.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure timely delivery of MES projects within scope and budget constraints.
  • Development, support, and integration of new and existing Ignition projects.
  • Install and maintain hardware and software that collects specified data into usable information to control the production process.
  • Must be able to work as a team member to attain the software and data collection goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Integrate collected data with other business systems such as ERP, SCADA and Engineering Systems.
  • Develop integrated Manufacturing Execution System (SCADA) for the facility.
  • Program, update, and trouble shoot automation equipment and PLC's.
  • Identify process improvements in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity.
Requirements
  • Proficiency with the configurations of Ignition Core modules as well as building visualizations.
  • Experience managing projects and working with diverse teams.
  • Experience programming HMI/SCADA products from Ignition
  • Software documentation

  • Problem solving skills
