Job Summary

As a Heat Treatment Process Specialist at Ford Motor Company, you will be responsible for developing and implementing standardized engineered solutions for metallurgical equipment. This role requires a strong background in materials science, chemical engineering, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have experience with process capabilities, quality tools, and project management. Additionally, proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and basic statistical skills are necessary. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new materials, heat treatment processing, and welding technology. They will also support launch phases for manufacturing plants and implement standardized engineered solutions for metallurgical equipment. The role requires strong leadership skills, with a focus on ergonomics, safety, productivity, and process conformity. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing metallurgical processes and procuring metallurgical machines for new model programs. They will also provide manufacturing assessments, cost estimates, and feasibility input to new program management. Furthermore, the role involves supporting continuous improvement of metallurgical systems and the introduction of new technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining Bill of Process elements for all metallurgical methods and equipment specifications. They will also support Design for Manufacturing guides in conjunction with prototypes and deliver Make-Like-Production (MLP) hardware for prototype builds. The role includes responsibilities such as FWD Trans., RWD Trans., Components, Axles, and Electrified Powertrain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and leadership, with experience in process development and implementation. They will be responsible for developing and implementing standardized engineered solutions for metallurgical equipment, with a focus on ergonomics, safety, productivity, and process conformity. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team, responsible for developing and implementing new technologies and processes. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new metallurgical processes and systems. The role requires strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
