**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Electrified Powertrain Design Engineer with a focus on Design and Release (D&R) to join our team at Ford Motor Company.

**Responsibilities:**

This role will lead the design and release of high voltage & low voltage connectors, ensuring they meet Ford standards and requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the EDS team and module team to establish design assumptions, follow robustness design disciplines, and participate in component design reviews at key milestones.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and releasing high voltage & low voltage connectors that meet requirements
  • Working with EDS and module teams to establish design assumptions and ensure designs meet Ford standards
  • FOLLOWING ROBUSTNESS DESIGN DISCIPLINES such as Boundary diagram, P-diagram, RCL, DFMEA, SCCAF, DVP&R
  • Ensuring designs meet Ford standards and requirements
  • Participating in component design reviews at milestones
  • Signing off component design for Quality, Cost, Weight, Functional Targets
  • Resolving Design Validation failure and developing root-cause, corrective actions, and preventative actions
  • Identifying and developing material cost reduction actions
  • Working with purchasing to follow the sourcing strategy
  • Utilizing best design efficiencies for manufacturing, assembly, and failure mode avoidance practices
  • Driving commonality of designs across multiple programs and platforms
  • Completing Technical Design Reviews with Technical Leads

**Requirements:**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience in Design and Release
  • Demonstrated outstanding D&R engineering discipline
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • 8D BS Engineering degree in EE or ME
  • High degree of motivation
  • Outstanding leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge on electrified powertrains
  • 6 Sigma trained (Green Belt Certified)
  • Cross-functional team leadership
  • Project management

**Salary:** $120,000 - $150,000 per year.
