Pheresis Technician

About the Job

This position is responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process. You will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The role involves monitoring the donor and the pheresis process, responding to specific alarms or signals, and disconnecting the donor when the process is complete.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to specific alarms or signals, and disconnect the donor when the process is complete">
• Maintain alertness and awareness to any reaction the donor may have during or after the pheresis process">
• Notify appropriate staff of any issues or concerns">
• Use Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents that occur during the pheresis process">

Requirements:

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three months' work experience, preferably in a medical or health provider environment. You should be able to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, and be able to see and speak with customers. You will also need to occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of the time.

Working Conditions:

You will frequently be exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens. You are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas.

Salary Estimate:

The estimated salary for this position is between $35,000 and $50,000 per year, based on location and experience.
