Accounting Analyst Role

HSBC is seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Accounting Analyst. This position involves providing reconciliation services to ensure General ledger and sub-ledgers accounts are properly reviewed and substantiated, variances are escalated to appropriate stakeholders and cleared from the accounts according to predefined clearing times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform analytical review and provide assurance on the quality and accuracy of data to be used for preparation and publication of reconciliations.
  • Prepare/review journals and entries focused in applied adjustments to the General Ledger.
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and consistency of process.
  • Build mechanism to track data inconsistencies as early as possible in the reporting cycle and take remedial steps to correct them.
Requirements:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation to build cohesive working relationships with key stakeholders and business partners.
  • Working across cultures and in matrixed organizational structures.
  • Sound judgment skills to identify and resolve problems.
  • Self-motivated with attitude of "would like to learn" and quick learning ability.
  • Able to multi-task and work under pressure, in particular in a change environment.
  • Flexibility to work in accordance with Business requirements.
Experience:
  • Experience in accounting/financial reporting.
  • Degree in Accounting or Business Administration or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills – Written & Verbal.
  • Intermediate-Advance written and spoken business English.
  • Ability to understand numbers and their impact drive and achieve accuracies across report deliveries.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word).
