A Quality Assurance (QA) expert will be responsible for driving testing activities, including test plan and strategy definition, implementation of test case design techniques to detect positive, negative, and corner cases, executing test cases, and reporting results along with issues detected. This is a hands-on position. The QA expert will collaborate closely with test automation, product, and development teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a cohesive quality strategy for multiple teams based on end-user experience, business goals, and technical understanding of products
  • Perform thoughtful test plan reviews for colleagues to ensure quality and distribute knowledge
  • Identify needs for team-wide improvements and work with manager and teammates to implement them
  • Evaluate test coverage across platforms and test types (unit, integration, end-to-end, regression, etc.) and identify the highest impact opportunities for improving coverage
  • Advocate for quality initiatives and best practices within the organization, engaging with engineers, product owners, and managers
  • Unblock, support, and effectively communicate cross-functionally to achieve results
  • Share knowledge by mentoring others (including other Quality Assurance Engineers), giving brown bags, and promoting engineering and quality best practices
  • Participate in hiring activities: take part in technical interviews and share detailed feedback to hire the best technical talent in the function

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in quality assurance or manual testing for software
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate work across a large number of features or product teams
  • Very good understanding of and ability to troubleshoot the testing ecosystem (plus points for mobile experience)
  • Has built systems and processes that increase the productivity of other quality engineers
  • Track record of improving efficiency, especially through automation and improving testing strategies
  • This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule if an established Lyft location is available in the Mexico City region – Hybrid Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays, and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
