**Job Summary**
As a Production Planning Specialist at Molex, you will play a critical role in aligning demand with manufacturing capacity to create production and procurement schedules for finished products and component materials. Your expertise will be essential in creating optimal production sequences that are feasible and allow simulations of various planning scenarios to determine the best schedules.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance with minimum delay, including analyzing backlog and clear-to-build.
- Coordinate production flow across multiple products or families of products.
- Monitor output and on-time completion of work orders to ensure production plan dates are met.
- Schedule demand in shifts according to production needs.
- Address issues as prompted to mitigate any interruption to the production schedule.
- Communicate the status of the production plan through the preparation of performance reports.
- Collaborate with production support groups, including Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, and others.
- Prepare and analyze expected revenue and shipping projections.
- Timely communicate with Customer Service Representatives on inquiries.
- Monitor on-time delivery at a granular level to ensure customer request dates are met.
- Participate in Lean projects and propose strategies for continuous improvement.
- Monitor and revise inventory levels at Finished Goods and sub-assembly levels to maintain optimal strategies and avoid stockouts.
- Practice intellectual curiosity to challenge the status quo.
- Maintain exception messages to ensure MRP is lean and true to customer demand.
- Convert planned orders daily to ensure demand is reflected promptly and accordingly within the MRP to execute procurement of materials and provide visibility to ship dates to customer demand.
- Perform weekly waterfall analysis to determine demand fluctuations and identify strategies to accomplish mid- and long-term demand.
- Participate in Kaizen releases bi-weekly.
- Participate in NPI releases and new business initiatives.
- Maintain a history of good performance on metrics, with a goal of greater than 80%.
**Requirements**
- Bachelor's Degree.
- At least 3 years of experience creating production plans.
- Previous proven experience creating production plans and strategies.
- ERP and MRP understanding in full.
- Proven problem-solving tools knowledge.
- English Professional Proficiency.
