Position Overview:

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the executive team and fellow developers to architect and implement the software framework that underpins our telehealth solutions.

We are eager to grow our engineering team with individuals who possess a strong entrepreneurial mindset.

Our serverless architecture leverages AWS to support a robust multi-tenant application.

Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and API design is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and document new services throughout the entire development lifecycle: write clean, well-tested code, and maintain thorough documentation for code and APIs using a contemporary technology stack.
  • Facilitate stand-up meetings, code reviews, and retrospectives, while contributing to and enhancing an engineering culture that prioritizes simplicity, intuitiveness, and impactful user experiences.
  • Establish testing protocols across all environments, from end-user testing to linting.
  • Act as a versatile engineer: from server and database development to API integration, and final UI implementation, you will have the chance to take complete ownership and accountability throughout the development process.
  • Innovate from concept to execution: You will have the chance to both enhance and automate existing services while also bringing new ideas to fruition. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a team where rapid development and contributions to product strategy are highly valued.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is a full-stack generalist with experience in taking products from concept to launch. We seek someone who is entrepreneurial, willing to engage in hands-on work, and passionate about our mission to create a platform that will significantly transform the healthcare sector.

  • You have a backend focus but possess enough frontend skills to be effective.
  • You are proficient in development (React, TypeScript, JavaScript).
  • You also have solid backend expertise (Rust, MySQL, Cloud Functions, Microservices Architecture).
  • You can work autonomously and are comfortable managing entire projects or substantial sections of the codebase.
  • Experience in developing commercial products and services is advantageous.
  • You are an effective communicator, able to clearly explain technical challenges, limitations, and timelines.
  • Proficient in writing technical documentation.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
