We are seeking a highly skilled Process Optimization Specialist to join our team at Kohler. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for providing engineering support to production areas, identifying and improving areas of opportunity in production processes or products.
Key Responsibilities- Provide engineering assistance for daily production, quality control, problem solving, cost reduction, and meeting delivery schedules.
- Oversee production processes and suggest changes in working methods or operation sequences to ensure adequate operation and improve efficiency.
- Support the maintenance department in maintaining and troubleshooting the manufacturing process, tools, and dies.
- Develop and maintain control over labor standards in complex operations.
- Assist in providing associates training as required and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Monitor and keep track of the different metrics of the plant.
- Assist in the implementation of the Kohler Operating System (KOS).
- Promote continuous improvements in safety, quality, and cost in plant operations.
- Develop quality projects through Lean Manufacturing tools to achieve cost reduction and improve results in areas.
- Support team work to ensure follow-up on established methods after projects have been implemented.
- Comply with Health and Safety Roles and Responsibilities established for this position.
- Education: Preference for a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Experience: Preference for a minimum of 2 to 4 years' experience in a manufacturing operation employing Lean systems.
- Skills: Critical traits include abstract reasoning ability, thoroughness, cautiousness, self-structure, urgency, aggressiveness, assertiveness, ego-strength, energy, and idea orientation.
