Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Agent to join our team at Tuolumne Utilities District. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and administering the District's purchasing program, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement and Contract Management: Develop, implement, and manage procurement plans, contracts, and agreements to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure quality products and services.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials, supplies, and equipment, ensuring accurate inventory levels and minimal waste.
- Supply Chain Optimization: Analyze and improve supply chain processes to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and submit reports on procurement activities, ensuring compliance with District policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum four years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a mid-sized company or government agency.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in computer software and systems, including Microsoft Office and procurement management systems.
Working Conditions: The Purchasing Agent will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with various stakeholders, including vendors, suppliers, and District staff. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
