About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Specialist to join our team at Fictiv. As a Quality Control Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality standards are met in our manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Inspection and Testing

Our Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for conducting inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished products to ensure they meet our quality standards. This will include:

  • Verifying that raw materials meet required specifications
  • Performing routine inspections on parts during the manufacturing process
  • Conducting final inspections on finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications and industry standards
  1. Measurement and Calibration

The Quality Control Specialist will also be responsible for ensuring that all measurement and calibration activities are accurate and reliable. This will include:

  • Using precision measuring tools to verify part dimensions and tolerances
  • Calibrating inspection tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for complex measurements and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  1. Record-Keeping and Documentation

The Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for accurately documenting inspection results, including measurements, test results, and any deviations or non-conformances found during the inspection process. This will include:

  • Logging inspection data and linking it to specific production lots or batches
  • Assisting in the preparation of quality reports and providing data and observations for process improvements and audits
  1. Non-Conformance Handling

The Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for identifying and segregating defective parts during inspections, reporting non-conformances to the QC Supervisor or Quality Engineer, and assisting in implementing corrective actions. This will include:

  • Inspecting reworked parts to confirm that defects have been corrected and that the parts now meet quality standards
  1. Support for Production and Process Control

The Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for monitoring the production process for any deviations from standard operating procedures (SOPs) or work instructions that could lead to quality issues. This will include:

  • Performing First Article Inspections on new or modified parts to verify that the initial production run meets all specified requirements
  • Communicating effectively with production operators, supervisors, and engineers regarding quality issues
  1. Maintenance of QC Equipment

The Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all QC equipment, including measurement tools and testing devices, are properly maintained, clean, and in good working condition. This will include:

  • Managing the inventory of QC tools and materials
  • Providing feedback to the Quality Engineer or QC Supervisor on recurring quality issues or observations that could lead to process improvements
  1. Compliance and Safety

The Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all inspection and testing activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality policies. This will include:

  • Following all safety protocols and procedures during inspections and while operating equipment

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience as a Quality Technician or similar role, specifically with plastics
  • Strong English and Spanish business communication skills

Preferred

  • New graduate with 2 or more years of experience
  • Minimum academic: Technical career completed
